Tom Hom Scholarship Recipient – Cameron Tran

Ever since he was young, Cameron has been involved in many community events, due to the variety of activities that he participated in.  He was an active Boy Scout for 7 years, during which he contributed over a hundred hours of community service.  His Eagle Scout project was done three years ago for the Mira Mesa Senior Center.  In addition, he has previously volunteered at the public library for their summer reading program, the Mira Mesa Street Fair, and Ericson Elementary as a teaching assistant.  In his free time, he enjoys swimming, playing the piano, and spending time with his pets.

A graduate of Mira Mesa High School, he is currently studying at Miramar College.  He will be attending San Diego State University in Fall 2019 as an Environmental Engineering major.  He hopes to work for the City of San Diego as a wastewater plant operator after he finishes school.
