4th Annual Mayor Award for San Diego API Outstanding Student – 2018 Request for Nomination
Dear Asian Pacific American Community,
The Asian Pacific American Coalition would like to invite you to send your nomination for the 4th Annual Mayor Award for San Diego API Outstanding Student. We cordially request your organization to nominate two students from your community.
The purpose of this award is to recognize those high school students (9th to 12th grade) who have demonstrated strong willingness and made significant efforts in civic engagement, shown extraordinary leadership skills with proven accomplishments, actively participated in community outreach programs while maintaining academic excellence in school. By recognizing these students, we hope to discover next generation of leaders that will best serve our Asian Pacific American community in San Diego.
Please submit your nomination by April 30th, 2018. Please mail your nomination package to:

Your nomination package should include the following:
- Student full name and ethnicity background.
- Student school name and grade level in 2017-2018 school year.
- Student recent standard photo (2×2) in jpeg file format.
- Student long bio to outline the achievements specifically in civic engagement and community services.
- Student short bio (less than 80 words) to outline the achievements.
- Student contact information: must have email and phone number.
- Student parents’ information: name, email, phone number.
- Name of the nominating organization: contact person, email, and phone number.
Note: Previous award recipients are not eligible.
The award will be jointly presented by Mayor Kevin Faulconer and Coucilman Chris Cate. The award ceremony will be held at City Hall. We will notify you and the awardees when the ceremony will take place. Attending the Award Ceremony is mandatory. We encourage the students’ parents to participate in the award ceremony.
